I am happy to unveil today, the Battlescape Summer Cup! While the Staff Team were working hard trying to figure out how we could get the whole community involved in some event, we all agreed that this was a PKing Server, and that we should host our first PVP tournament!
What is this Summer Cup?
The Battlescape Summer Cup is a tournament consisting of PKers, pure and mains alike to see whom can come out on top and take the title as best Battlescape clan/team for summer 2010.
There will be 3 divisions, under 96, 90-110 and 110-126 combat.
How can I sign up?
This is a preview of what is to come from our first Battlescape Cup. We are still working out minor things, but will let you know when you are able to sign your team up.
There will be three divisions which you can sign up to be part of;
- The Pure Division (under 96 combat)
- The Mid Division (between 90 and 110 combat)
- The Main Division (110+ combat).
If your team fails to meet the requirements listed for the particular division you apply to enter, you team will be automatically disqualified come matchmaking. When signing up the rules and terms of agreement will be made clear. If you break these your team will be disqualified and you and your team members may not be allowed to sign up for future events.
Rules and Restrictions
We will/have set rules in place to try and make the tournament as fair and level as possible. More rules will be announced later to ensure the tournament runs smoothly.
Pure and Mid Divisions
- Team size is anything up to 10, you may have less but no more. We recommend filling all team positions.
- The matches for these divisions will be 10v10 multi combat fights.
Main Division
- Team size is anything up to 5, you may have less but no more. Again we recommend filling all team positions as competition will be tough.
- Matches in this division will be 5v5 single/multi combat fights.
Large clans/teams are free to enter multiple teams, however entries are open to absolutely anybody. So get your friends together and enter a team!
The fights will be held in the wilderness where you will lose your items if you die. This is not a safe tournament. There are no limitations on what gear you can bring although both teams must wear a team cape to represent their team, but keep in mind if you die you will lose your items and your opponent/team mates may loot them. So don't bring everything you own!
Any signs of cheating will result in your team being disqualified and possibly blacklisted.
The list of rules will be released soon. You must agree to the terms before signing up. All Battlescape Rules will apply throughout the duration of the tournament.
Will we be rewarded?
I'm sure you're all dying to know what the winners will recieve. Well 1st of all, you will obviously receive the title as best clan/team of summer 2010! We will possibly have something to give you so you can visually display this. This alone should really be incentive enough to enter the tournament, for respect!
However, we'll see about arranging some kind of other reward, possibly something in-game or maybe a month of membership for each of your team members. This'll be discussed in the weeks to come and we'll let you know. Leave us some feedback.
Surely people will cheat then?
The Battlescape staff team (Seeing that they're not participating) will be monitoring each match to make sure none of the rules are broken and that there is no outside interference. We'll make sure teams are as listed and that nobody makes any return trips to the battle after they've died. Again breaking the rules will result in your team being disqualified and possibly black listed, so be good!
We would like it to make it clear that we will not hold up the tournament for anyone in particular. All teams must show up for matches at the times listed. We will move on as planned, with or without you or your team. So make sure everyone is there early and ready. Any breaking of the Battlescape rules during, or prior to the competition may result in said member(s) being illegible to joining/playing. Again, returning to the battle after you have died will result in your entire team being disqualified and the match ending.
How are the matches chosen?
All matches will be randomly chosen, however we will try to make sure clans/teams who enter multiple teams are not made fight eachother in the early rounds.(Assuming the teams are named appropriately, as in have a similar name so it's clear they are allied.) You should maximize your teams potential to increase your odds of winning because of how matchmaking will be done. (Decent gear/full team)
Sit tight! We'll be sure to let you know when this is going down so don't worry about missing out!
